Pizza Swirls

 This recipe is such a good basic dough for pizza, pizza scrolls, or add extra sugar and some spices and it is perfect for cinnamon scrolls or sweet bread.

You will need:

1 1/2 Cups Self Raising Flour
1 1/2 Cups Plain Flour
2 teaspoons (1 sachet) dried yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
pinch salt
1 cup warm water
tomato paste & pizza toppings

Method:

Mix the flours together in a big bowl and make a "well" in the centre.  Tip in the yeast powder, the sugar and salt into the well.  Pour on the warm water.

Mix well until a thick dough forms.  Gently knead with your hands on a floured surface for about 5 minutes till the dough is nice and silky.

Roll the dough out into long flat rectangular shapes.

Spread with tomato paste

Sprinkle with cheese - add diced bacon / ham / olives / pineapple - whatever you like


Roll the dough up longways into a sausage and slice in 2cm thickness disks.
Lay the disks on a baking tray and bake for approximately 15 minutes or until doubled in size and bread is lightly golden in colour.


Delicious hot or cold
Makes approximately 20 pizza swirls

Recipe doubles well for more swirls.
